Evgeny Grinko has officially unveiled his long-awaited new album, Winter Moonlight, marking his first full-length release since Orange Marmalade (2021). Conceived as a counterpart to his EP Winter Sunshine, the record was created in the intimate setting of his home in Istanbul, joined by longtime collaborators Iana Chekina (cello) and Pavel Mackevitch (viola, violin).
The album’s opening track, “Glare of Us,” offers a warm welcome, guiding listeners through shifting seasons and times of day. Winter Moonlight also features Grinko’s first vocal collaboration on “Mr. Squirrel,” with SVRCINA’s ethereal voice gliding gently above the instrumentation. The lead single, “Melting,” was recorded at daybreak in Istanbul to capture the subtle transition from night’s melancholy into the calm of morning. Other highlights, such as “Evening Bell” and “Zapad Slunce,” draw inspiration from twilight and sunset, further showcasing the album’s reflective tone.
n celebration of Winter Moonlight, Grinko will embark on his first European tour in March 2025. The tour kicks off on March 3 at the Kammermusiksaal of the Berliner Philharmonie (Berlin, DE), followed by March 5 at St. Johns At Hackney Church (London, UK), March 6 at Hallé at St Michael’s (Manchester, UK), March 29 at Teatro Fernando de Rojas (Madrid, ES), April 12 at the Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg, DE), April 13 at Tivoli-Vredenburg (Utrecht, NL), April 14 at the Zoom Club (Frankfurt, DE), and April 15 at Le Trianon (Paris, FR).
