When I composed Ticket to the Rome, I felt the vibe of Soviet psychedelic cartoons from my youth. But when I started to compose the string arrangement, I felt the composition had morphed closer to Ennio Morricone music. That journey – from the USSR to Russia to Morricone’ s Rome – is the inspiration behind the title.
